    Ingredients

    • 500gm chicken
    • 2 tbsp (tablespoons) yogurt
    • 1 tbsp turmeric
    •  2 large onions
    •  5-6 cloves
    • 2 tbsps peanut powder
    • 1 tbsp red chilli powder
    • 1 tbsp garlic paste
    • salt to taste
    • lemon juice
    • 3 tbsps tvegetable oil
    • 2-3 bay leaf
    • 1 strand cinnamon
    • a pinch of black pepper powder
    • 3 tbsps grated coconut
    • 2 tomatoes
    • 4-5 sprigs coriander leaves

    Rich in protein and tasty.

    Method

    • 1Mix turmeric powder, red chillies, garlic paste, salt, and lime juice with curd. The marinade is ready.
    • 2Add the cut chicken pieces to the marinade and leave aside for half an hour.
    • 3Heat oil in pan. Add bay leaf, cinnamon, cloves, crushed black pepper and chopped onions. Saute till onions turn translucent.
    • 4Add grated coconut. Saute till coconut colour changes.
    • 5Add tomatoes. Cook for 10 minutes. Cool and puree the mix in a blender.
    • 6Heat oil and add the marinated chicken to the pan. Cook for 25 minutes on low fire. Stir regularly.
    • 7Add paste and simmer on low flame for five minutes.
    • 8Kolhapuri chicken is ready. Garnish with coriander leaves.
    • 9Serve hot with rice.
