I love buying books for the daughter. I blog about childrens books, I enjoy reading with Batool, and am delighted to enter the children’s section of a good book store. So it wouldn’t come as a surprise that I picked up books while in Kinokunya this time. This book store is insane, and I have a long list of book purchases for myself *hand to face*
Anyway, getting back to the point, Oliver Jeffers is an amazing discovery I made while in a workshop at school. This author has a special way of telling stories, expressing concepts and sharing significant information in a humorous and metaphoric way. This works great for children 4Yrs, like this book; ‘None the number’. This is a book that introduces the concept of ‘none’ or zero along with basic addition and subtraction. What makes this book special is that it’s anything but formal, Hueys is the character who basically discovers the amazing ‘none’ and how adding and subtracting works.
Oliver Jeffers' books are collectibles; I am amazed by the illustrations and the overall vibe of the books. I highly recommend them to all mums.
What are some of your favourite books? If you want a detailed review of this book and others I already have do let me know, I have a carton full of children’s books (and I am not guilty) ;)
