A good night's sleep is not all you need to be energetic throughout the day.

Lack of sleep is not the only reason you feel tired. Here are 8 reasons why you feel tired all the time.

    1. You have iron deficiency
Low levels of iron in the body mean insufficient oxygen travels to your muscles and cells. To increase your iron levels, consume iron-rich foods like eggs, green vegetables, nuts and kidney beans on a daily basis.

    2. You are skipping breakfast
It's a simple rule really - you should never skip breakfast. The food you consume in the morning fuels your body and enables blood to pump oxygen in your cells.  Ensure that your breakfast is a combination of complex carbohydrates, proteins and vitamins.

    3. You are eating too much junk food

All junk foods are loaded with simple carbohydrates, which increase sugar levels in your blood. Increased sugar leads to fatigue, so it is advisable to avoid foods loaded with sugar and simple carbohydrates. Overeating, drinking and weight gain also lead to chronic tiredness.

    4. You are not getting enough sleep
Sleep is essential to recharge and relax your body and mind, so aim to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep every night. If that is not possible, try to take a 20 minute nap during the day.

    5. You are depressed
Being  stuck in a dead-end job or a toxic relationship can cause depression, which leads to tiredness. Beat depression by spending time doing the things you love, and getting  plenty of exercise. Don't be afraid or ashamed to seek medical help if required.
    6. You are working too hard
Find a way to unwind by taking up some relaxing exercise like yoga, or pursuing a hobby. Do not try to do much at a time, because a hectic life can slow down body movements and make you feel dull and tired.

    7. Your job is stressful

Issues like an ever-increasing work load, the need to prove yourself to your superiors, and monetary worries also lead to persistent tiredness. Instead of stretching yourself too thin, set realistic goals to cut down on your stress.

    8. You lack passion
People who are not passionate about what they do have low levels of motivation and energy. If you can't change your situation, try to find something that excites you in whatever you do.

Which of these 8 reasons is making you feel tired?
